Baptist Medical Center South Begins Improvements at Jacksonville Hospital


Baptist Medical Center South will undergo construction of its existing operating room, according to a recently approved building permit for the Jacksonville hospital.

The additional work will cover 1,000 square feet and cost $950,000. It will focus on a structural steel overhaul of the hospital operating room at 14550 Old St. Augustine Road.

This is the second major addition to the facility in the past year. In October, the hospital underwent a major overhaul that cost around $5 million. This work included renovations that covered over 16,000 square feet.

The final work will be carried out by contractor Batson-Cook Co.

$14 million warehouse approved

Imeson Road will see a new warehouse in the industrial and commercial development area on the north side of Jacksonville.

Patillo Industrial Real Estate is the owner of the new facility. Building permits for the warehouse were approved this month by the Jacksonville Building Inspection Division.

It will be a reinforced concrete building at 6040 Imeson Road and will cost approximately $14 million. Dana B. Kenyon Co. is the contractor.
