Governor General of Canada awards 63 Canadian Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medals to Toronto paramedics – City of Toronto

Lieutenant-General Richard Rohmer and Toronto Paramedic Services Chief Paul Raftis will present 63 Toronto Paramedic Services paramedics with the Canadian Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Exemplary Service Medal, presented by Her Excellency the Right Honorable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada.

The Canadian EMS Exemplary Service Medals are awarded by the Governor General of Canada in recognition of 20 years of exemplary service, with a minimum of 10 years of service in potentially hazardous duties. More information on the medal is available on the Governor General of Canada’s website.

Date: Monday May 30

Weather: 1:30 p.m.

Location: Canadian Armed Forces Denison Armory, 1 Yukon Ln. The ceremony will take place in the officers’ mess.

As Denison Armory is a secure Canadian Forces facility, government-issued photo ID is required to gain access. Limited on-site parking is available through the security gate checkpoint off Yukon Lane. Face masks must be worn at all times and physical distancing must be observed.
